Day 1 - Today upon the arrival of your international flight at Johannesburg Tambo International Airport in South Africa after clearing customs and immigration you will be met and transferred to a domestic terminal for your flight to Madikwe Game Reserve. Here you will be met and after a short 10-minute drive arrive at Dithaba Lodge (FB). Meaning mountain, this small intimate lodge which I just was at, sits higher up on the mountain and offers stunning views of the open plains of Madikwe. Which just four suites, each with its own plunge pool is offers the best of what Madikwe has to offer. Rest, relax from your flight and get ready to experience Africa!
Day 2 - A typical day (though there is nothing typical in the bush) will have you arising at dawn for an early morning game drive. Then it is back to the lodge for breakfast, relaxation or whatever else you desire. After a fantastic lunch (I met the chef and he is great) and afternoon tea you will head out again for an afternoon late evening game drive. The wildlife here is stunning and don’t be surprised to see leopard, rhino, elephant and the rest of the “Big 5.” Spend another night at Dithaba Lodge (FB).
Day 3 - Spend another full day in the Madikwe Reserve. Every day is different and you will never know what is around the corner. You will be amazed at the ability of your guide to spot game and their knowledge of the bush. Spend a final night at Dithaba Lodge (FB).
Day 4 - Spend a final full day in Madikwe. By now you are in the rythmn of this place and every brings a new experience. Spend a final night at Dithaba Lodge (FB).

You can enjoy the spa here after the bumpy roads in the bush. We have also arranged for youto visit the Rosebank Art & Craft Market, Rosebank Rooftop Market & Fourways Farmers’ Market . These vibrant places might be the perfect place to pick up some gifts and soveniers.
Day 6 - This morning you will check out and be transferred back to the Johannesburg airport in time to make a connection to Maun in Botswana. Upon arrival you will be met and taken to Chobe National Park. This iconic park is known for having the densest herds of elephants in Africa. For the next three nights you will stay at the only lodge in the park – Chobe Game Lodge (FB). This beautiful property where I have been a guest sits on the Chobe River. What makes this place unique is not only that all the guides are women but they use electric safari vehicles and are eco certified. Here you will spend the next 3 nights doing game drives, take a boat trip down the Chobe River and enjoying the wonderful hospitality of this lodge.
Day 7 - Arise at dawn for a game drive. Besides elephants there is the rest of the Big 5 here as well as giraffe, impala, warthogs, and a whole host of other animals and bird life that is attracted by the Chobe River. In the afternoon sip drinks as you go down the river and watch elephants and other wildlife come to the river to drink. There is no mistaking you are in Africa! Spend another night at Chobe Game Lodge (FB).

With just 5 “Island tree-house” chalets this amazing camp in the center of the Jao Concession sits on an island on beautiful floodplains of the Delta. These floodplains are home to a number of “Delta specials” – species that are found in few other places on Earth. Some of these may even be seen from the privacy of your room! There is also a plunge pool with loungers which is just right for those sunny afternoon naps.
Day 10 - Today is your first full day in the Delta. Go on an early morning game drive. Take a boat ride in the Delta and be surprised what is in store for you with every twist and turn. Or simply relax and take in the views of the Delta. The day is yours to do as you please. Spend the night at Kwetsani Camp (FB).
Day 11 - Spend a final day in the Delta and in the bush. Do the activities that you did not do yesterday or do the ones you fell in love with yesterday. Day 12 - Alas it is time to leave Africa. After a final game drive, a final delicious breakfast and checkout you will be taken back to the airstrip where you will fly to Maun to connect to Johannesburg and your international flight home. Since your flight does not leave until the evening we have arranged for you a half day tour of Soweto.
